Titan is one of a nine Explorer units in the Royal Kingston District.

As part of the continuous training programme Explorer Scouts work towards the Queen’s Scout Award, via various progressive awards, and this can also be closely linked in with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. We recently ran a Bronze DofE canoeing expedition with support from Kingston Scout Canoe Club.

Explorer Scouts devise their own programme to ensure they are taking part in activities they really wish to do. Our activities include camping (both locally and abroad), canoeing, cycling, trampolining, shooting, archery, hiking, climbing and all the usual outdoor activities.  We have an international level target shooter in the unit. Indoor activities are not ignored either with a wide variety being undertaken during the weekly meetings such as cooking, working for badges, games, robot wars and Morris Dancing!  We had great night recently in the studios of Radio Jackie.

In addition to the regular programme of activities Explorers have the opportunity to train to become Young Leaders. The Group currently has 3 qualified Young Leaders and a further 7 participating in the training programme.
